Founder's Story
The Story Of
Redefining Bahrain’s Waterscape
Our Founder and Director, Muhammed P. K
The Journey
Hailing from a remote village in Kerala, India, Muhammed P. K., the Founder and Director of MI Technical Trading Company LLC, Bahrain, has carved a unique niche for himself in the Kingdom through sheer hard work, vision, and perseverance. Today, he is fondly known as the “Water King of Bahrain”, offering comprehensive solutions for water treatment, storage, and heating, along with complete Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services across Bahrain through his Company.
The Early Years
The story begins in 1993. Fresh out of the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, with a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Muhammed began his career with successful stints at reputed companies like HOCL and Apollo Tyres in Kerala. Seeking broader horizons, he soon moved to Mumbai, the commercial hub and dream city of India, in search of better opportunities.
In Mumbai, he appeared for the Trainee Engineer test at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), but destiny led him to another position—one that would shape his entrepreneurial instincts.
The next six years became his grooming ground, refining his technical expertise, business strategy, and marketing acumen within Mumbai’s dynamic industrial environment. This experience laid a strong foundation for his subsequent journey to the Gulf.
The Fire-Test
In 2000, Muhammed attended a job interview in Dubai—a decision that proved to be life-changing. He secured a position in sales and marketing of water treatment and chemical products, catering to clients in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC.
These years were his true “fire-test”—demanding, rigorous, and immensely rewarding. Working with a trading and consulting firm in Dubai, and later with a water treatment company in Bahrain, Muhammed gained invaluable experience dealing with local customers, multinational clients, and global suppliers.
He underwent specialized product training in environmental monitoring systems, instrumentation, and advanced water treatment processes such as copper and silver ionization, with suppliers in the UK and Europe.
These international exposures expanded his knowledge, confidence, and leadership outlook—skills, he later shared by training local engineers and industries.
Muhammed’s “never-give-up” attitude, combined with his approachable personality, soon earned him the respect of both Arab and foreign clients. He successfully executed prestigious government and royal projects, including supply contracts for the Royal Palace of Bahrain. His cheerful demeanour and customer-first approach turned one-time clients into long-term partners.
The Birth of an Entrepreneur
With growing confidence and expertise, Muhammed began taking on government sector projects independently, tackling complex challenges with determination. Each project added to his experience and strengthened his resolve.
And then came the turning point — MIT was born!
The Formation of MIT
Muhammed’s Gulf experience and insight into the water industry inspired him to take a bold leap. In 2008, he founded MIT International (Middle East Innovative Technology Solutions International) in Dubai and, later that year, established MIT International Trading LLC in Bahrain.
From its humble beginnings as a trading supplier, MIT gradually evolved into a technology-driven water treatment and engineering company. Muhammed envisioned a future rich with opportunity in Bahrain and the GCC, and despite the risks, he plunged into entrepreneurship — a leap of faith that required immense courage and conviction.
Risk, Resilience, and Reward
Transitioning from employee to employer, Muhammed had no family business background or mentor to lean on—only a burning desire to succeed on his own terms. The early years were challenging, but he faced every obstacle with grit, optimism, and relentless energy.
His risk-taking spirit and determination soon paid off. Muhammed built MIT into a trusted brand known for reliability, innovation, and customer focus. Looking back, he cherishes those early struggles in the most formative years of his journey as the foundational pillars of his business.
